At the end of the performance\, the last one standing and still going will be the highest rank present. \nEvery year\, color belts and black belts enjoy this tradition to reconnect with each other\, reflect on the progress they’ve made in 2017\, and to remember to keep pushing forward. You will pay this at the door. \n \n\n \nWhat is Kali?\nKali is a martial arts style that focuses on the ability to transition from fighting with weapons to empty hands fluidly\, as there is always the possibility of losing or being without a weapon. Though there are several systems of Eskrima/Kali in use today\, most teach elements of weapons fighting\,striking\, grappling\, and throwing/ takedowns. \nKali practitioners believe that hand-to-hand combat moves are similar to those with weapons; thus\, these skills are developed concurrently. Some of the popular combinations of weapons used are the single stick (solo baston)\, double stick (double baston)\, and sword/stick and dagger (espada). DESCRIPTION:Region 118’s Annual Awards Banquet is taking place on Saturday\, December 3rd 2016! \nPlease join our Chief Masters\, Senior Masters\, Masters and High Ranks for the annual in-region Rank Advancement Test. It is the end-of-the-year showcase of Arizona’s finest martial artists. \nAwards will be given for the following categories: \n1) Regional Appreciation: a member or non member who has shown consist effort with helping the region grow through their participation in regional activities and events.\n2) Instructor Trainee of the Year: Red Collar or above\, active leadership member\, who teaches\, and develops students\, makes a recognizable effort to live according to the Songahm Spirit of Taekwondo.
