Southwest Martial Arts Camp is a 3-day training experience designed with the entire family in mind. This year will be extraordinary with a whole new experience planned. There will be 4 tracks of classes during each hour of training so that advanced black belts, color belts, adults, and children will have a small-group experience with their peers. With superior amenities at the new CAMP WAY we will also have the opportunity to select one elective included with camp price. Elective choices are extra-curricular activities such as a High Ropes Course, Ax Throwing, Archery, Hiking, a 20-minute Martial Arts Private Lesson, or Canoeing. Electives and/or Extra add-on electives will be selected after August 15, 2023. Non-participating family members are welcome to attend camp, enjoy the mountain air, and take a few classes daily that are not physical martial arts classes. Join us in welcoming Arizona’s fall season in the cool mountain air of Prescott, Arizona on the grounds equipped with 4 to 10-person cabins (not dorms), indoor and outdoor training space, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The ponderosa pines, meandering deer, and blue skies make this a breathtaking remote site. Take your training to a new level with traditional martial arts taught by Master Instructors plus weapons classes, ground fighting, yoga stretching, taiko drumming, Korean calligraphy, combat, sparring, creative, extreme classes, and more! There is something for everyone and even non-ATA friends & family will enjoy this camp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the cancellation and refund policy?
A: Camp Way requires pre-payment for the lodging/meals for all of our prospective campers ahead of time. Because of this, camp deposits are not refundable at any time. Within the 1-month time frame before camp (after Sept. 2nd) there will be no refunds available for any other money you may have paid toward your balance. This money is; however, transferable to another student, or can be put toward our next camp in 2026. If for some reason you are unable to make it to camp, please email [email protected] or call Lee’s ATA main office (480) 831-1111 and let us know directly so that we are not worried when you do not show up.
Q: How old does a child need to be to attend camp without a parent/guardian
A: 9 years old, or at the parent & instructor’s agreed-upon discretion.
Q: If my family is going can we stay in a cabin together?
A: Yes! Families that kick together, stick together! The camp has large cabins that sleep 4 – 10 people, so for families that would like to ‘bunk’ together, this can be arranged; however, it is first come first serve basis. In the case that our space requires families to be split between 2 cabins, we would then house you appropriately. There is a section on the registration form where you can leave your request on for us to see when it comes time to make cabin arrangements. This is done within the week of camp. Cabins are assigned based on the date of registering online.
Q: What should I pack?
A: A little bit of everything. Click HERE for a suggested packing list.
Q: My child has food restrictions, are there accommodations?
A: Camp Way kitchen offers gluten-free and vegetarian options at every meal, and you are welcome to bring any food/snacks you’d like to keep on hand. We usually receive the menu from the cooks within the week of camp and will email it out to you. Want to see a sample menu from a prior year? Click Here.
Q: My child has medication they need to take, what should I do?
A: There will be medical staff available in case of emergencies or for medication supervision. Our medic will have a list of all medications needing to be administered to campers, reactions, disabilities or restrictions, as well as any other notes you have left us on your registration form. We also have access to a refrigerator for any medication that needs to be kept cold.
Q: What is supervision like at camp?
A: When all campers arrive, we will have grouped them into squads. Each squad has a squad leader. There will be 2 tracks for training running simultaneously so the squads will be divided by age/rank. Each cabin with unaccompanied minors will also have an assigned leader who does cabin checks.
Q: What are the cabins like?
A: There are several types of rooming arrangements on the grounds. Some cabins house 4 people and some house 10 people. If families are attending and they know other families that they would like to share a dorm or cabin room with, please specify this as soon as possible via email to [email protected]. If the participant is not with their family then all males will be in a cabin and all females will be in another cabin divided by age groups. Every cabin has a stall shower, toilet, sink vanity and ample hot water. Families with small children will be placed in a separate “family” cabin with parents and their children. Cabins are assigned on a first-registered basis, so if you have a preference for bunkmates, please list it on your registration as soon as possible. DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO CAMP WAY

Q: Where do I pick my classes out?
A: You will receive a camp schedule of classes 1 month before camp about what types of classes you would like to participate as well as what electives you would like to choose during camp. You will not need to pick your class options until you arrive at camp. Once you choose the classes you want to attend it is your responsibility to bring any sparring gear, weapons or other items needed during the classes you select. We will email you again 1-week before camp about anything you need to know such as weather, or special classes added that might require a certain weapon, clothing or gear. This way you can make somewhat of an outline for packing purposes. Most children, though, will want to take whatever classes their friends are taking when they get there and end up changing their minds frequently throughout the weekend, so there is no need to notify us of your class choices. NO WHITE UNIFORM IS NEEDED. PLEASE DRESS IS BLACK CLOTHING such as sweat pants, kicking pants, and mainly black t-shirts. Want to see a sample of classes from a prior year? Click Here.
